WHERE:   Okefenokee National Wildlife Refuge. January 24th trip will meet at the Suwanee Canal Recreation Area, leaving personal vehicles there, and then riding the shuttle up to Kingfisher Landing to launch into the swamp and begin the paddling portion of the trip.

Adventure With us to The Okefenokee National Wildlife Refuge!

On this 3 night, 4 day trip into the Okefenokee Swamp, the “Land of the Trembling Earth” we will explore the natural beauty and abundance of wildlife found in this unique wilderness area. The Okefenokee boasts some of the darkest skies in the southeast with one of the swamp’s access points receiving a designation as a certified dark sky park! After a magnificent sunset, gaze up at the stars and spot the Milky Way among the breathtaking night sky.

Our guides create a safe, informative, and enjoyable experience. Platform camping is how it’s done in the swamp, creating a front stage view and continued opportunity for flora and fauna sightings.

We intend to eat well throughout the trip! Over the course of the weekend meals are prepared for you. Hot Breakfast, Dinner, and Dessert each day, with lunch options conducive for enjoying while exploring the swamp in a watercraft. In addition to boats, paddles and personal flotation device a tent will also be provided for you. Platform reservation cost ($15/person per night) is included in the overall trip cost.

**Come down Thursday evening and meet the team! We will arrive a day early on Thursday and camp just outside of the Swamp at the Okefenokee Pastimes Cabins and Campsites. We hope you’ll join us for dinner, dessert, and breakfast before we start our journey into the swamp on Friday morning. Thursday night campsite or cabin reservations will need to be reserved separately through their site.

Itinerary, Over the course of this trip in the Okefenokee, we will paddle a total of 32 miles.

– Thursday: Optional camping at Okefenokee Pastimes Cabins and Campground. Group dinner, dessert, and breakfast Friday morning.

– Friday
Paddling Distance: Kingfisher Landing to Bluff Lake: 8 miles
Friday morning we will park personal vehicles at Suwanee Canal Recreation Area and hop in the shuttle van to ride up to Kingfisher Landing where we will launch boats and begin paddling. Camp Friday night will be at the Bluff Lake Platform

– Saturday
Paddling Distance: Bluff Lake to Round Top: 12 miles

– Sunday
Paddling Distance: Round Top to Coffee Bay: 5.7 miles

– Monday
Paddling Distance: Coffee Bay to Suwanee Canal Recreation Area: 5.7 miles
